For more than 160 years, Essilor has placed innovation at the heart of its strategy.

The group now devotes 150 million euros to research and development (R&D) investments and employs 550 researchers around the world in its three Innovation and Technology centers.

Through its network of partnerships with universities, industrial groups and SMEs, innovation applies at all levels within Essilor: products, services and marketing.

Being innovative also means placing wearers and their specific needs at the heart of the approach, as demonstrated by the Live Optics program.
